"Drawn Together" SOHO art exhibition

The New Year has been good to me thus far because I'm included in a SOHO art gallery show here in NYC! The Leslie Lohman gallery (26 Wooster Street, Manhattan) is having a show entitled "Drawn Together" this February. The show will include non-digital media depicting images of homosexual friendship, love, and lust.

Two of my pages from my erotic comic, "Second Chances" will be framed and the gallery has agreed to sell copies of my self-published mini comic. The comic is pre-packed with a set of four Foxy Andy post cards and sells for $10. If you're in Manhattan, stop by the gallery and pick up a copy! Also included in the show are several small works that will be a part of a "Big Wall of Little Drawings" which features artwork ranging in size from 8 x 10 inches to about 5 x 6 inches.

Lastly, I will have several large pieces on paper available in a portfolio. Here will be some life model drawings as well as a few hand colored ink drawings.

World Aids Day

Just in case you didn't know: today is World Aids Day. So if you can do a little something to help the fight, please do! No effort is too big or too small.

I'm helping out in my own little way by being in a group show called, "Men Loving Men" at my local LGBT Community Center to benefit the center's HIV/AIDS Youth Prevention Program. I've got three new pieces in the show centered on the theme "Super Foxy Couples". Hopefully, I'll make some sales and help the cause AND my wallet! Well, the art show last night went well. It was great to meet my fellow artists and fans, and I even sold some art! A huge, big "Foxy Hug" to all those of you who made a purchase. Joe was a big hit, too and I'm sure has made a lot of new friends. ;)

Happy Pride to all my fellow LGBT foxy fans! This week-end is pride here in NYC area, and it also is the 40th anniversary of Stonewall. We've come a long way in the fight for human rights, but there is still a long way to go. sigh...

On a slightly different note, it's also an important time for me because it's also the debut of my "ashcan" edition of my comic "Second Chances"! You might have caught me talking about this earlier in a previous post, but let me refresh your memory. This erotic, gay tale of romance was written by the fab Dale Lazarov and is part of a collection of three stories we're working on called "CHUMS".

Anyways, NYC Comic retailers, Jim Hanley's Universe, is hosting a Pride event this coming Saturday at their midtown location and yours truly will be there along with many others! There will even be panels about gays in comics, and a "how to self publish" so why not stop by and check it out? You can support the community and learn a little something at the same time. ...oh, and maybe even find a date (if you're looking)!

Foxy Uncensored

So I'm about to post something here that I don't normally do. I'm going to post something a bit more outrageous... or better yet "uncensored". It's also very appropriate since I'm featured in a new book, "Stripped Uncensored", from ertotic publisher, Gmunder! The book features a variety of erotic artists from around the world and should be a great reference guide for both old and new talent.

I submitted many pieces for this book, but Gmunder picked some of my more provocative work. This piece (top) was done as a promo for a great website called CAMPBLOOD. It's a horror fan site from a LGBT perspective, and has been around for a while now. There's tons of film reviews and trivia among other things. Stop over and check it out: It's good, campy fun!

Another piece in the book is something right out of my perverted mind. I'm not sure how or why that little goblin-critter hiding in the hollow tree has a nose like that, but it makes me laugh. To be honest, these guys are a part of a series that I'm going to be working on under the title, "A Midsummer Night's Cream". I know it's a terrible title, but if the shoe fits...

Just in case you wondered what happened to my Foxy café press shop... it's closed (at least for a while until people start requesting such things). Regardless, I think it's better to offer fans the chance to purchase original artwork and so I have opened a FOXY ETSY shop! I came across a YOUTUBE vlog that someone known as "Mike Diamond" made of the Painted Boy show and exhibit. It's actually kinda fun, and thought that some of you might also think so. Beware that there is artwork depicting adult gay sexuality, so if you're not legally an adult... YOU CAN'T WATCH THIS! (Or you'll have to go and get your parent or legal guardian to watch it with you.)

Well, I didn't sell much at the Loverman show this past week-end, but that won't keep me from letting my fans get a chance! I'm in the process of getting my original art up for sale. They're really quite something up close (if I may say so myslef). So look here soon for more details soon!

Thought you might like to look at some samples from "Second Chances". It's the first short story (written by Dale Lazarov and colored by Larry Brown) of a series titled "CHUMS".
This story centers around two fellas who meet again at their high school reunion after many years. One is a successful artist, and the other is the jock turned TV sportscaster. Lucky for them the festivities are at a hotel so they don't have far to go to get to a bed! ;)

OH! And don't get confused: there are flashbacks of the characters from when they were in school together, so you get the pleasure of seeing twinks and daddies in one story! ENJOY.

Just giving you all an update on my progress on work for the upcoming "Loverman" show. I'm having a lot of fun making portraits of foxy fellas of various sorts. I have about 10 pieces completed, and hope to have at least a few more by showtime.

It's a relief in some ways to get away from the computer and actually use art materials again. I've gotten too used to using digital color and have forgotten how much fun it is. I hope you like what you see from these small samples. Leave a comment and let me know!
